Your roadmap

Our Education Program is designed to support you through every stage of the designation process. From registration to completion, you’ll have access to a team dedicated to helping you succeed.

Our Education Program Team Includes:

  • Senior CPAs
  • Recent CPA Graduates
  • Current CPA Students
  • University Professors

Process:

  • Complete a 4-year undergraduate degree with required CPA 
 courses (120 Credits)
  • Join FCR for CPA training under the Pre-Approved Program 
 Route (PPR)
  • Assistance in registering as a CPA student and transcript 
 assessment with CPA Ontario
  • Guidance through the Professional Education Program (PEP), 
 from modules to exams

Professional Education Program (PEP)

FCR’s supportive environment, combined with our open-door policy, ensures your success in the CPA journey. 1. Common Core Modules

CORE 1: Financial Reporting, Finance, Audit & Assurance, Taxation
CORE 2: Management Accounting, Financial Reporting, Strategy & Governance, Finance

Our Support Includes:

  • Workshop travel arrangements
  • Continuous mentoring through PEP

2. Elective Modules

Choose Any 2 Electives:

  • Assurance*
  • Performance Management
  • Taxation*
  • Finance

Note: Public accounting students must choose assurance and taxation electives.

3. Capstone Modules

CAPSTONE 1: Leadership skills, Professional Skills, Integration Competencies
CAPSTONE 2: CFE Preparation Course, case writing skills development

  • CFE-focused guidance
  • Ongoing mentorship

4. Common Final Exam (CFE)

The Common Final Exam (CFE) is a pivotal part of your CPA journey, a three-day examination requiring a deep understanding of accounting principles and professional skills. 

Our Support Includes:

  • Exam structure tips and tricks
  • Mock test provision
  • CFE query resolution
  • Comprehensive mentoring

Professional Designation Support

We’re committed to supporting employees pursuing professional designations, including CPA, CBV, CHRL, and more. FCR provides financial support for eligible tuition, program fees, examinations, and resources to help you succeed throughout your designation journey.

Paid Study Leave

We recognize the commitment required to earn a professional designation. FCR provides paid study leave, dedicated preparation time, and ongoing support for employees pursuing credentials, including additional guidance during key CPA milestones such as the CFE.

Learn Alongside Your Peers

At FCR, you’ll complete your CPA journey alongside other CPA students and candidates progressing through the program. Our collaborative, team-oriented environment encourages peer support, shared learning, and strong professional relationships.

Student Hiring Cycles

FCR offers co-op, internship, and student employment opportunities throughout the year, helping students gain real-world experience while building their careers in public accounting.

Summer Hiring (August–September)

Each fall, we recruit for our summer student positions, offering hands-on experience in public accounting, mentorship, professional development, networking opportunities, and meaningful client work across Northern Ontario.

Fall & Winter Hiring (June & October)

We recruit co-op students and returning summer students throughout the year, providing experience across assurance, tax, advisory, and business services. We actively recruit from Laurentian University, Cambrian College, Collège Boréal, Canadore College, and Nipissing University, while also participating in rank matching and recruit students from leading universities across Ontario, including Wilfrid Laurier University, the University of Waterloo, Brock University, and more.

High School Co-op Opportunities

Through partnerships with local secondary schools, FCR helps students explore careers in accounting, business, and professional services through high school co-op placements. Students gain hands-on workplace experience, develop practical skills, and learn alongside experienced professionals.

FCR High School Case Competition

FCR High School Case Competition

Building tomorrow’s business leaders.

Each year, FCR partners with the Rainbow District School Board and Sudbury Catholic District School Board to host our High School Case Competition in Sudbury, Ontario.

Students in Grades 10–12 collaborate to solve a real-world business challenges before presenting their recommendations to FCR professionals and local business leaders.
